This x-ray is the one taken in March 2011. The curvature in the top curve says 67.2 degrees. The bottom curve is 43.3 degrees.
This x-ray was taken today, September 1, 2011, 5 weeks and 1 day after her surgery. The number on the bottom curve is 25.3 degrees. They didn't mark a measurement on the top near the hardware, but they did leave a small curve there to try to balance out the one on the bottom. The surgeon said that the decision to leave that part un-fused and without hardware was made deliberately to allow her to bend and have normal flexibility. It is amazing to me to see the difference between the two x-rays. I am so thankful that they were able to do so much correction.
Jaimi measured in at 5'7" today, another 1/4 - 1/2 inch taller than she was even right after the surgery. She's standing straighter and isn't hurting anymore (except for a headache with the head cold she's had the past couple of days, but her back's fine).
We drive home tomorrow. We've been packing and doing laundry, visiting with friends and trying to spend time with family. It's been so nice being here and being so well taken care of, but we are both ready to go back home, and in Jaimi's case, standing a little taller. :)
